Ik denk dat bovenstaande quote één van mijn favorieten is. Ik hou ervan te denken dat Lewis Carroll het met een voorziende blik over het internet had. Het kan er prachtig zijn, maar ook heel gek, duister en slecht. Wil je Alice ook op je bureaublad? Gauw naar Oh Marie!, daar kun je ‘m downloaden.

Mollie Makes Zilverblauw

Gewoon weer eens wat plaatjes van ons alledaagse leven. Ons huis en mijn winterhert staan in de Engelse Mollie Makes van deze maand, wat een eer! Liesbeth bracht ‘m voor ons mee uit Londen. (dankjewel!) Van lieve Jacqueline en Hennie kreeg ik de nieuwe bordjes van Donna Wilson. Ik liet mijn lievelingsfoto van Wolf afdrukken op acryl en inlijsten. Nieuwe dingen in huis maken me altijd blij, de lentezon doet de rest.

Some pictures of our everyday life. Our home and my winter deer are in the English edition of the magazine Mollie Makes, such an honor. Sweet Liesbeth send it to us from London. Hennie and Jacqueline gave me the new Donna Wilson-plate and a postcard from her new collection. The photo on acryl was a present I gave myself, it makes me really happy. Mijn analoge Nikon FE ging ook mee naar Texel. Fotorolletjes ontwikkelen doen ze niet (meer) op het eiland, dus ik moest geduld hebben tot we weer thuis waren. Als ik naar deze foto’s kijk, vind ik het haast bijzonder dat er niet ergens een hobbit of iets wat er op lijkt opduikt, het landschap is zó sprookjesachtig. Hopelijk hadden jullie allemaal een fijn weekend? Wat een schitterende dag vandaag!

Boze Wolf

Toen Wolf net geboren was, was zijn mondje het eerste wat me opviel. Wolf’s mond vertelt precies hoe hij zich voelt, de rest van zijn gezicht hoef je er niet eens voor te zien. De foto hierboven is mijn nieuwe lievelingsfoto van Wolf. Het is een soort combinatie van deze en deze eerdere favorieten.

After I gave birth to Wolf and looked at him for the first time, his mouth was the first thing I noticed. There’s so much expression in it, just look at his mouth and you know exactly how he feels. The first picture is my new favorite, it’s sort of a combination between this one and this one.

Mus laat me keer op keer zien dat de allerliefste zijn prima gecombineerd kan worden met het zijn van de allerstoutste. ‘s Ochtends in bed kruipt ‘ie tegen me aan en zegt ‘ie: ‘mama, wat ben je lekker sacht’, terwijl hij de nacht ervoor het hele gezin schreeuwend en krijsend wakker heeft gehouden.

Mus shows me time after time that it’s perfectly possible to be a combination between the sweetest and the naughtiest boy on earth. In the morning, in bed, he whispers sweet things in my ear while at night, he turns in some kind of not-sleeping animal, screaming and yelling and waking everyone up.

(FYI: Wolf’s rabbit hat is part of a costume, Mus’ hat is from Bieq, the singlets are from Bobo Choses.)

Zo, hier een zoetsappig blogje vanaf Texel. Het weer is schitterend, het voelt als lente. De zonsondergang gisteren was zó mooi, dat ‘ie bijna vroeg om een kus. Het is hier prachtig, we genieten.

Yes, another kiss in front of the camera, but yesterday’s sunset was so extremely beautiful it almost asked for a kiss. We’re at Texel, one of Holland’s West Frisian Islands. It gorgeous here, we’re enjoying our stay to the max.
