Counted & loved

Ik had een week vol hoogte- en dieptepunten. Grote contrasten. Momenten waarop ik besef hoe belangrijk het is stil te staan bij de mooie dingen die we meemaken. Hier zijn ze weer voor de afgelopen week:
Mus dronk voor het eerst uit een tuitbeker en dat ging prima! Hij wordt zo groot. Natascha (van sponsor Guten Appetit) stuurde me het geweldige boekje ‘The life of mr Mustache’, wat me echt vrolijk maakte. Ik las de nieuwe Milk Deco. Bezocht het concert van jeugdhelden Bush met Casper. (en zag Gavin Rossdale van héél vlakbij, aaah, zie Instagram) En last but not least, de Donna Wilson sjaal die ik won kwam gisteren al aan! Zo heerlijk zacht. Wat maakte jullie blij afgelopen week?

Strange week here, with a lot of nice things, but also some bad news. Makes me aware of my blessings even more. The nice things: Mus started drinking from a cup, he’s growing so fast! Natascha send me the wonderful book ‘the life of mr Mustache‘, a book that made me really happy. I read the new Milk Deco. Casper and I went to see heroes from our youth Bush, Gavin Rossdale was really, really close, aaah!! (follow me on Instagram for more) And last, but not least, the Donna Wilson-scarf I won arrived yesterday. It’s so soft and beautiful!! What made you happy last week?

Fijne dingen deze week:
Mus’ halfjaardag. Ik vind het zo fijn dat ik ouderschapsverlof op heb kunnen nemen zodat ik een extra dag thuis kan zijn. We wandelden met de kinderwagen door de herfstbladeren. Mus past nu in de voetenzak die we van mijn vader kregen bij zijn geboorte, hij ziet er zo schattig uit. Het dekentje op de bovenste foto is een superlief handgemaakt cadeautje van Yvonne. Het is heerlijk zacht en warm. Op de onderste foto een lunch van twee bruine boterhammen met komkommer, surimi en een beetje lightmayo gemengd met curry, lekker! Wat maakte jullie blij afgelopen week?

Happy things last week:
Being at home with Mus. We made a walk through the fallen leaves and Mus looked so sweet in his new foot muff. Having a delicious lunch at home together with Casper. The blanket on the first photo is hand crocheted by Yvonne, such a sweet, soft and warm present. What made you happy last week?

Zo, de hectische week is ten einde. (dat is blessing nr. 1!) Casper en ik sloten deze week fijn af met sushi en True Blood op de bank, zoals te zien is op de laatste foto. Verder werd ik blij van slapende poes Curry en van alle mooie, goede spullen die Steve Jobs voor ons maakte. Met een inmiddels vrij bekende quote van Steve Jobs wens ik jullie een positieve, rustige nieuwe week toe, waarin we ons bewust zijn van alles wat we hebben, zowel in immaterieel als materieel opzicht.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

Casper and I had sushi and watched True Blood to celebrate the end of this week. It was so busy and stressful it almost made me scream. Sleeping cat Curry made me smile and so did Steve Jobs’ quote. (as seen above) Wish you all the best for the new week!

Deze week werd ik blij van:
prachtige dahlia’s, het lijken wel kunstwerkjes! Wolf die geniet van de Leeuwenkoning, een film die ik zelf ook nog steeds met plezier kijk, de magneten ‘Leaves‘ van Richard Hutten die ik kocht op de woonbeurs en nu een hart vormen op onze koelkast en een tocht door het maïsdoolhof. (dank voor de tip Noortje!) Wat maakte jullie blij afgelopen week?

What made me happy last week:
beautiful dahlias in our home. Wolf watching the Lion King, one of my favorite movies. Richard Hutten’s Leaves on our fridge and a walk through a corn-labyrinth. (thanks to Noortje!) What made you happy last week?

Wat me blij maakte deze week:
Het eerste vuurtje in onze stonestove sinds de zomer. Op m’n gemak de 101-woonideeën lezen met de paginagrote aankondiging van ons huis in de editie van volgende maand. En de bloggers meetup op de woonbeurs gisteren, wat werden we verwend! (op de foto Yvonne, ik en Iris. Ohh, wat was het leuk! Morgen meer.) Hoe was jullie week?

What made me happy last week:
The first after-summer fire in our stonestove. Our home at the last page of 101-woonideeën, as advertisement for the next issue. And the bloggers meetup at the Dutch Woonbeurs yesterday; Yvonne, Iris and I had so much fun! (tomorrow more about the Woonbeurs) How was your week?
